The burning place

by Judith Bishop · 1994

Cover of The burning place

Burning Place is a Shoshone name for Death Valley, where native people know how to live. As our dominant culture continues to destroy the earth we will have to learn how to live under such searing conditions, and if there is to be a change of attitude that will change the results of our ecological behavior, it will have to begin with more stringent self knowledge.
