The Molson saga, 1763-1983

John Molson (1763-1836) immigrated from England to Montreal, Quebec in 1782, and married Sarah (Insley) Vaughan in 1801. He began the brewery business which has since been a principal family enterprise, although the family has also been involved in railroads, banking, hotels, theaters, hospitals, hockey, etc. Descendants and relatives lived in Quebec, Ontario and elsewhere.
