Koulikoro
Koulikoro (Bambara: ߞߎߟߌߞߏߙߏ tr. Kulikoro) is a town and urban commune in Mali. The capital of the Koulikoro Region, Koulikoro is located on banks of the Niger River, downstream from Mali's capital Bamako.

Kalabancoro
Kalabancoro or Kalaban Koro is a rural commune and town in the cercle of Kati within the Koulikoro Region of south-western Mali. The commune has become part of the suburbs of Bamako, the Malian capital. It lies on the south side of the Niger River, to the south and west of the urban communes V and VI of Bamako. The commune is growing very rapidly. In 1998 it had a population of 35,582 but by 2009 this had grown to 166,722. It is now Mali's third most populous commune, and by far the most populous rural commune.
Banamba
Banamba is the capital of Banamba Cercle, one of the seven Cercles of the Koulikoro Region of Mali. Its estimated 2008 population is 7000. The town lies due north of the regional capital of Koulikoro, and is connected by a 40 km all-weather road via the town of Sirakorola, about halfway between the two. It is the location of the Lycée Franco-Arabe de Banamba.

The town lies 31 km south of the Mauritanian border and 156 km west of Nara, the administrative centre of the cercle. The commune, which includes the town and seven of the surrounding villages, had a population of 11,683 in the 2009 census.

The commune covers an area of approximately 1,118 square kilometers and includes the town of Ouélessébougou and 44 villages. In the 2009 census the commune had a population of 50,056. The town lies 80 km south of Bamako on the Route Nationale 7.
