Badenoch (; ) is a district of the Scottish Highlands centred on the upper reaches of the River Spey, above Strathspey. The name Badenoch means the drowned land, with most of the population living close to the River Spey or its tributaries.

Appin () is a coastal district of the Scottish West Highlands bounded to the west by Loch Linnhe, to the south by Loch Creran, to the east by the districts of Benderloch and Lorne, and to the north by Loch Leven. It lies northeast to southwest, and measures . The name, meaning "abbey land", in reference to Lismore Abbey, is derived from the Middle Irish apdaine.

Inverpolly is the name given to a large area of northern Wester Ross in the Northwest Highlands of Scotland, north of Ullapool. The area contains several prominent hills, rising up from a rough landscape of bogs and lochans. From 1961, the area was designated national nature reserve but since 2004, the designation has been limited to the area of Knockan Crag. The area supports a large number of high-quality freshwater loch habitats, the majority of which are oligotrophic. Major peaks in the area include Stac Pollaidh, Cul Mòr, Cul Beag.

Mamores
The Mamores are a group of mountains in the Lochaber area of the Grampian Mountains in the Scottish Highlands. They form an east–west ridge approximately fifteen kilometres in length lying between Glen Nevis to the north and Loch Leven to the south.
