Notimex was the official Mexican news agency, created on August 20, 1968, to handle coverage of the 1968 Summer Olympics. Notimex is headquartered in Mexico City and has 568 regional coordinating offices throughout Mexico. Its staff consists of over 30,000 writers, editors, photographers, reporters, and correspondents.

Oportunidades (English: Opportunities; later rebranded as Prospera and more recently as Bienestar) is a government social assistance program in Mexico founded in 2002, based on a previous program called Solidaridad, created in 1988 and renamed Progresa in 1997.
