Its summit is the highest point in the Bohemian Forest in both countries, and also the highest point in the regions of Mühlviertel and South Bohemia. The summit is above the tree line, but the slopes are almost completely covered in coniferous alpine forest.

Ödriegel
The Ödriegel is an elongated ridge of the Arber ridge in the northern Bavarian Forest. On its flat summit, there are some fantastic vistas that offer a view of Lam, the Osser and the Hohenbogen. Most hikers will pass the Ödriegel on their tour along the European Walking Route E6, from the Arber to the Kaitersberg. It is hardly ever climbed as an independent mountain, but usually in connection with its neighbours, the Mühlriegel and Schwarzeck.

The Alzenberg (1,100 m) is a mountain in the Bavarian Forest, northeast of the town of Freyung and lies in the Bavarian Forest National Park about two kilometres from the German-Czech border. It is almost entirely wooded.
Grandelberg
The Grandelberg, also known locally as the Schönbuchetfelsen, is one of the less well-known viewing mountains in the eastern Bavarian Forest in Germany. It is 1,110 metres high and located about 20 kilometres north of Freyung.

Kiesruck is a Mountain in Bavaria, Germany, lying between Falkenstein and Rachel mountains. Access to the mountain is prohibited from mid-November to mid-July, in an effort to protect threatened species which reside in the area; and as such, no marked hiking trail to its summit exists.
