Amman is the capital and the largest city of Jordan, and the country's economic, political, and cultural center. With a population of five million as of 2024, Amman is Jordan's primate city and is the largest city in the Levant region, the seventh-largest city in the Arab world, and the eighth-largest metropolitan area in the Middle East.

Al-Quwaysimah (; alternatively spelled Quwaysma or Qweismeh) is an area part of the Greater Amman Municipality, and also one of the districts of Amman governorate. As of 2013 it had a population of 176,400, making it the fifth largest city in Jordan. In the 2015 census it was grouped with the localities of al-Jweideh, Abu Alandah and al-Rajib for a combined population of 296,273. In the 1915 Ottoman census it had a population of 101, all Muslims.

Al-Muwaqqar () is a district in the Amman Governorate of north-western Jordan. The village contains the scant ruins of an Umayyad palace, the Qasr al-Muwaqqar, one of the desert castles. Little remains of the palace today except several acanthus leaf capitals and gauge of a water reservoir.

Naour (), also called Naur, is region number 26 in the Greater Amman Municipality. It is located on the west side of the capital, and comprises 26 neighborhoods or residential areas. Naour comprises approximately 87 km2, i.e., 5.19%, of the total landscape of Greater Amman Municipality. Its population is 50,000 and it is bordered by six regions.

Al-Rajib or simply Rajib is a town in Qweismeh area of Greater Amman Municipality in northwest Jordan. It's known for the Cave of the Seven Sleepers being located there.

Al-Juwayyidah () is a town in the Amman Governorate in northwestern Jordan. It is bordered to the east by the Sahab region, to the west by the Muqabalin area, to the north by Umm Al-Hieran, and to the south by Kherbet al-Souk. It is famous for the existence of a prison in which it was known by its name "Juwaida Prison".
