Shighnan
Shighnan, also Shignan, Shugnan, Shughnan, and Khughnan (, , Pashto: , Shughni: ), is an historic region whose name today may also refer to a town and a district in Badakhshan Province in the mountainous northeast of Afghanistan and also a district in Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province in Tajikistan. The administrative center of the Shighnan District of Afghanistan is called Qaleh Barpanjeh (قلعه برپنجه). The administrative center of the Shughnon District of Tajikistan is called Khorogh.

Qal`eh-ye Panjeh
Qala-i-Panjah (), also written Qila-e Panjeh and Qala Panja, is a village in the Wakhan District of Badakhshan Province in northeastern Afghanistan. It lies on the Panj River, near the confluence of the Wakhan River and the Pamir River. The village and rest of the territory south of the Afghanistan–Tajikistan border is patrolled by the Afghan National Police and Afghan National Army. The town of Khandud is to the southwest of Qala-i-Panjah, and much further to the northeast is Gazkhan.
