The Fontanka (), a left branch of the river Neva, flows through the whole of Central Saint Petersburg, Russia – from the Summer Garden to . It is long, with a width up to , and a depth up to . The Moyka River forms a right-bank branch of the Fontanka. Lined along the Fontanka Embankment stand the former private residences of Russian nobility.

The Izhora (, ), also known as the Inger, is a left tributary of the Neva on its run through Ingria in northwestern Russia from Lake Ladoga to the Gulf of Finland. The Izhora flows through Gatchinsky and Tosnensky Districts of Leningrad Oblast as well as through Pushkinsky and Kolpinsky Districts of the federal city of Saint Petersburg. The settlement of Ust-Izhora (lit. "mouth of Izhora") is situated at the confluence of Izhora and Neva, halfway between Saint Petersburg and Shlisselburg. The Okhta () is a river in Vsevolozhsky District of Leningrad Oblast and the eastern part of the city of Saint Petersburg, Russia. It is the largest right tributary of the river Neva. It joins the Neva upstream of the Neva's mouth, within the city limits of Saint Petersburg. The length of the Okhta is , and the area of its drainage basin is . Its largest tributary is the Okkervil (left). The Rzhevsky Reservoir ( long, wide, with a volume of 4 mln m³) has been built on the Okhta. The Utkina Dacha estate is located on the banks of the Okhta close to the mouth of the Okkervil.

The Karpovka () is a small river of the Neva basin in Saint Petersburg, Russia. It separates Aptekarsky Island (right bank) from Petrogradsky Island (left bank). The Karpovka flows from the Bolshaya Nevka to the Malaya Nevka and is long. The Russian name is derived from the old Finnish name of the river, Korpijoki, meaning forested area river. The Saint Petersburg Botanical Garden and Ioannovsky Convent are situated on the right bank of the river.
