The Tisza, Tysa or Tisa (see below) is one of the major rivers of Central and Eastern Europe. It was once called "the most Hungarian river" because it flowed entirely within the territory of the Kingdom of Hungary. Today, it crosses several national borders.

It flows from Ukraine (156.6 km) to Slovakia (31.4 km), 188 km in total and west through the towns of Svaliava, Mukachevo, Solomonovo, Chop and Veľké Kapušany. Its basin size is . Its confluence with the Ondava, in Zemplín, gives rise to the Bodrog river, itself a tributary of the Tisza.

The Borzhava (; ) is a right tributary of the river Tisza in the Zakarpattia Oblast, western Ukraine. Its basin covers an area of . It rises in the Eastern Carpathians. It discharges into the Tisza near Vary, on the border with Hungary.
