Alberto Ormaetxea era un futbolista y entrenador nacido en Éibar, el 7 de abril de 1939 y fallecido en San Sebastián el 28 de octubre de 2005. Su carrera deportiva como jugador comenzó en la S. D. Eibar en 1958, en 1962 fue traspasado a la Real Sociedad, participó en el definitivo ascenso de la Real a primera en 1967, y jugó hasta el año 1974. El 31 de agosto de 2006 recibió en Ipurúa un homenaje en su ciudad natal en un triangular entre la Real Sociedad, el Athletic Club y la S. D. Eibar.
