descriptive vector graphics language

Source code

Asymptote is a powerful descriptive vector graphics language for technical drawing, inspired by MetaPost but with an improved C++-like syntax. Asymptote provides for figures the same high-quality level of typesetting that LaTeX does for scientific text. All source files in the Asymptote project, unless explicitly noted otherwise, are released under version 3 (or later) of the GNU Lesser General Public License (see the files LICENSE.LESSER and LICENSE in the top-level source directory). Note that the MSWindows executable of Asymptote available on and can only be released under the GNU General Public License (GPL) as it ships with the GNU Scientific Library, GNU Readline library, and other GPL libraries. Source code for the various dll libraries that ship with this version of Asymptote is available as follows. Asymptote includes several third-party libraries (span-lite, wyhash, Boehm GC, LspCpp, libatomic ops, GLEW, TinyEXR), each with their own license terms. See LICENSES-THIRD-PARTY.md for the component list, or run asy --licenses=full to print the full license texts from the installed licenses/ directory.
