Attagenus es un género de escarabajos de la familia Dermestidae. Se encuentra en África tropical, el Paleártico incluyendo Europa, el Cercano Oriente, el Neártico, África del Norte y Asia oriental. Hay cerca de 200 species. El género ha existido por lo menos 99 millones de años con fósiles en ámbar de Burma y de Nueva Jersey. El género fue descrito por Latreille en 1802. Attagenus is a genus of beetles. This genus is found in tropical Africa, the Palearctic including Europe, the Near East, the Nearctic, North Africa and East Asia. There are nearly 200 species. The genus has existed for at least 99 million years, with fossils known from the Cenomanian aged Burmese amber and Turonian aged New Jersey amber.
