Bottighofen is a municipality in the district of Kreuzlingen in the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland. thumb|Baeren Inn Bottighofen
==History== thumb|Aerial view from 300 m by Walter Mittelholzer (1924) There was a small, prehistoric lake-front settlement near the village. The modern village of Bottighofen is first mentioned in 830 as Pottinchovum. The main landlord for the village, was the monastery of Münsterlingen, from the High Middle Ages until the 19th century. Until 1798, it belonged to the bailiwick of Eggen.
