Downtown Canyon Canyon is a city in and the county seat of Randall County, Texas, United States. The population was 14,836 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Amarillo metropolitan area. Canyon is the home of the Panhandle–Plains Historical Museum, and the outdoor musical drama Texas. The city is also home to the main campus of West Texas A&M University.
