Chamdo, officially Qamdo () and also known in Chinese as Changdu (), is a prefecture-level city in the eastern part of the Tibet Autonomous Region, China. Its seat is the town of Chengguan in Karuo District. Chamdo is Tibet's third largest city after Lhasa and Shigatse.

Chamdo (tibétain : ཆབ་མདོ་གྲོང་ཁྱེར།, Wylie : chab mdo grong khyer, pinyin tibétain : Qamdo, THL : chamdo drongkhyer ; chinois : 昌都 ; pinyin : chāngdū), est une ville-préfecture située dans le Kham à l'Est de la Région autonome du Tibet. En 1999, sa population est d’environ 86 280 habitants. Sa zone urbaine, le District de Karuo, est la troisième de la région autonome du Tibet, après celles de Lhassa et Shigatsé. Elle est située à environ 480 km (à vol d’oiseau) de Lhassa, la distance à parcourir par la route étant de 1 120 km (route du sud) ou 1 030 km (route du nord). La ville se situe à une altitude de 3 230 mètres. Au tournant du XXe siècle, la ville avait une population d'environ 12 000 habitants, dont un quart était des moines. Chamdo, avec la région environnante, est le centre des tribus .
