Cound is a village and civil parish on the west bank of the River Severn in Shropshire, England. It is south east of Shrewsbury.

==Etymology== Locally the village name is pronounced "COOnd" (rhymes with spooned or crooned) although those local residents who have Cound as their surname usually pronounce it as "COWnd" (rhymes with pound or hound.)
