Daniel H. Janzen

Daniel H. Janzen is an American biologist, entomologist, and university teacher. Born in Milwaukee in 1939, he holds a Doctor of Philosophy and speaks English. He has worked as a professor at the University of Michigan and the University of Pennsylvania. His academic training includes studies at the University of Minnesota and the University of California, Berkeley. His field of work encompasses botany.

Janzen is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He has received the MacArthur Fellows Program award, the Albert Einstein World Award of Science, the Blue Planet Prize, and the Kyoto Prize in Basic Sciences. He is the author of fifteen works, including *Tropical agroecosystems*, *Interaction of the Bull's Horn acacia (Acacia cornigera L.)*, *Guanacaste National Park*, *Designing Conservation Projects*, and *Pollinatn Tropical Plants*. His collection items are held at the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle, Harvard University Herbaria, the Natural History Museum, and the National Museum of Natural History.
