David Wolf

David Alexander Wolf is a male United States citizen born in Indianapolis in 1956. He serves as a military officer, astronaut, physician, and engineer. Wolf is a member of the United States Air Force and was part of NASA Astronaut Group 13, working for NASA. He has flown on the STS-89, STS-112, STS-58, and STS-127 missions.

Wolf received the Order of Friendship, the NASA Distinguished Service Medal, the NASA Space Flight Medal, and the Medal "For Merit in Space Exploration." He spent 242457 units of time in space. He was educated at Indiana University, Purdue University, and Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis.

In addition to his space career, Wolf is recognized in the Astronauts collection. He is also an author with 26 works, including *Philosophy That Works, 2nd Edition*, *Above the Highest Bough*, *Self Discipline*, *Ireland's Winter and Other Poems*, and *Daylight Dolphin*.
