Derek Hough was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and moved to London in 1998 with sister Julianne Hough in order to pursue their dancing talent with Corky and Shirley Ballas, parents of Derek's future band mate. Derek became a world champion in Latin American Dance and joined the cast of Dancing With the Stars in season 5.
