Elakatothrix is a genus of green algae in the class Klebsormidiophyceae.
== Etymology == Genus name Elakatothrix is composed of elakato- prefix, "spindle", and –thrix suffix, "thread", literally "spindle thread", in reference to the tapered shape of individual cell of the colonial algae.
