When Toyota Stadium and Toyota Soccer Center opened on August 6, 2005 it was a groundbreaking soccer-specific property that has since helped grow the sport in north Texas. It has hosted U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Team matches, Concacaf Gold Cup matches, U.S. Women’s World Cup Qualifying matches, a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup final, Dallas Cup championship matches and many more high profile soccer events. The 145-acre multipurpose sports and entertainment facility sits at the intersection of Main Street and the Dallas North Tollway in Frisco, Texas. It is the home stadium for FC Dallas, hosts the FCS title game and the Frisco Bowl as well a variety of concerts, tournaments and other events. It is also the home of the National Soccer Hall of Fame which opened in Toyota Stadium's south end in 2018 as part of a more than $55 million renovation to the facility which included new locker rooms and two new club spaces, the Red Star Club and Gallagher Club. The combination of a world-class stadium and a sports park make Toyota Stadium one of the best and most unique soccer facilities in the world. Included in the facility is the state-of-the-art pro stadium which seats 19,096 for soccer matches and 20,500 for football games. The campus also features 17 tournament-sized natural grass and turf training fields. There are a total of seven sand based fields including the main Stadium Field, FC Dallas Adidas Field and five general use fields. Each field meets the standards set by the USGA for sand based field construction. All fields consist of a hybrid Bermuda grass variety called Tifway 419. All fields are fully irrigated and 16 of 17 fields are lighted. There are a total of eight native soil fields which are fields located north of Technology Road.
