Francine Berman

Francine Denise Berman is an American computer scientist and university teacher. She was born in Glendale in 1951. She has been educated at the University of Washington and the University of California, Los Angeles. Her professional career includes positions at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the University of California, San Diego, the San Diego Supercomputer Center, and Purdue University.

Berman is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Association for Computing Machinery. She has received the distinctions of ACM Fellow and IEEE Fellow. Her recognized works include a final report. She is noted in the American Academy Arts Sciences collection.
