It's about an hour's drive north of Dhaka, else you can disembark from the train at Joydebpur Train Station downtown. But seeing as attractions are in the surrounding area, a car is probably preferable.

Gazipur () is a city in central Bangladesh. Located in Gazipur District in Dhaka Division, it is a major industrial city north of Dhaka. It is a hub for the textile industry in Bangladesh, with 75% of all garment industries situated there. It is also part of Greater Dhaka.
Since 2013, Gazipur has been governed by the Gazipur City Corporation, making it one of eleven cities of Bangladesh that are administered by a city corporation.
