George Cassidy was a jazz musician and music teacher from Bloomfield, Belfast, Northern Ireland. He played tenor saxophone, clarinet, and lap steel guitar. George Cassidy taught fellow Belfast musician Van Morrison music reading and notation and giving him saxophone lessons. They both grew up on Hyndford Street, making it accessible for regular lessons.
