Humaniora är de ämnen som studerar människan som kulturell varelse. Hit räknas ämnen som etnologi, filosofi, historia, idéhistoria, , estetik, konstvetenskap, retorik, språk och litteraturvetenskap. Till humanvetenskaperna räknas dessa samt även sociologi, pedagogik, kulturantropologi och psykologi. Vidare räknas ibland även religionsvetenskap eller teologi till humaniora, även om dessa ämnen vid Uppsala universitet har egna fakulteter. Vid Lunds universitet tillhör de samma fakultet sedan 2010.
