Innocent XIII

Michelangelo Conti, born in Poli in 1655, was a Catholic priest, bishop, and Pope. He served as Camerlengo of the Sacred College of Cardinals and was educated at the Pontifical Gregorian University and Sapienza University of Rome. His ecclesiastical consecrators included Galeazzo Marescotti, Prospero Bottini, and Sperello Sperelli. Conti was a member of the Arcadian Academy and participated in the 1721 papal conclave.

He died in Rome on 7 March 1724 and is buried in the Vatican Grotto. Conti worked in Rome and the Papal States. He is described in sources such as the Brockhaus and Efron Encyclopedic Dictionary, The Nuttall Encyclopædia, and the Encyclopædia Britannica 11th edition. His name in his native language is recorded as Innocentius PP. XIII. He is recognized in the Popes collection.
