Jack Dongarra

Jack Dongarra is a male mathematician, computer scientist, engineer, and university teacher born in Chicago in 1950. He holds United States citizenship and resides in the United States. His professional career includes teaching and research positions at the University of Manchester, University of Tennessee, Rice University, and Argonne National Laboratory. He received his education from Illinois Institute of Technology, University of New Mexico, and Chicago State University.

Dongarra is recognized for his notable work on LAPACK and his contributions to vector and parallel processing. His publications include the LINPACK Users' Guide and proceedings from various European MPI Users' Group meetings. He has received the Sidney Fernbach Award and the Turing Award. Additionally, he is an ACM Fellow and an IEEE Fellow.
