Jacqueline Jones

Jacqueline Jones is an American historian, writer, and economist born in Delaware in 1948. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy and has served as a professor emeritus and chair at Brandeis University, Wellesley College, and the University of Texas at Austin. She was educated at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the University of Delaware. Her academic work focuses on African American history and the history of the Americas.

Jones is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She has received the MacArthur Fellows Program award and the Bancroft Prize, and was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for History. She is recognized in the American Academy Arts Sciences collection and the Macarthur Fellows collection. As an author, she has written 41 works, including *Morning Glories*, *Healing under His Wings*, and *Affirmation Devotional*. She speaks English.
