جامی

Jami, born Abd al-Rahman in 1414, was a male poet, writer, music theorist, and philosopher from the Timurid Empire. He was born in Khargerd, Herat, or Torbat-e Jam and died in Herat in 1492. His religious worldview was Islam, with a lifestyle centered on mysticism and Sufism. He spoke, wrote, and signed in Tajik, Arabic, and Persian, with Persian and Arabic serving as his primary writing languages. Husayn Bayqarah served as his sponsor.

Jami’s works are held in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Notable works include "ديوان كامل جامى", "نفحات الانس من حضرات القدس", "Lawā'ih", and "Bibliotheque choisie de contes orientaux et fables persanes". He is described in sources such as the Armenian Soviet Encyclopedia, Brockhaus and Efron Encyclopedic Dictionary, and Encyclopædia Britannica 11th edition.
