Joseph "Joe" Shuster (1914–1992), amerikansk-kanadensisk serieskapare, skapade Stålmannen tillsammans med Jerry Siegel . Fick 1997, efter en lång rättslig tvist, en livränta från DC Comics . Efter honom har man även uppkallat priset Joe Shuster Canadian Comic Book Creator Awards som delas ut till serieskapare födda i Kanada, likt Shuster själv. Efter att ha stämt DC Comics hade Shuster problem med att hitta jobb, och gjorde under denna tid bland annat erotiska illustrationer med fetischistiska inslag för tidningen Nights of Horror") . Joseph Shuster (/ˈʃuːstər/ SHOO-stər; July 10, 1914 – July 30, 1992) was a Canadian-American comic book artist best known for co-creating the DC Comics character Superman, with Jerry Siegel, in Action Comics #1 (cover-dated June 1938).

Shuster was involved in a number of legal battles over ownership of the Superman character. His comic book career after Superman was relatively unsuccessful, and by the mid-1970s, Shuster had left the field completely due to partial blindness.
