Joel Goldsmith (b.19 November 1957 - 29 April 2012) was a composer of film and television music from L.A., California. At the age of eighteen, he marked his film debut in the sound department with the picture "The Treasure of the Jamaica Reef" (1975). It would be his pairing with Richard Band which led to steadier work on such films as "Auditions" (1978) and "Laserblast" (1978).
