John Weldon (1676–1736) was an English Baroque composer and organist whose career moved from Oxford to the musical institutions of early-Georgian London. After training at Eton and studying with Henry Purcell, he became organist of New College, Oxford (1694) before joining the Chapel Royal, where he later served as organist and was sworn in as a “second composer” in 1715. Weldon’s name is especially linked to sacred vocal music and English dramatic vocal writing. <a href="https://www.last.fm/mus
