Jonathan Roy was born in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. He left his hometown at the age of six with his family. His father hockey's career took him to Colorado for the next decade where he grew up combining his studies and hockey. Back in Quebec Jonathan joined the Quebec Remparts hockey team in 2006 and was pursuing his two passions at age 20: hockey and music. He was inspired by artists like: John Mayer, Jason Mraz and Jack Johnson. Jonathan wrote all the lyrics for his debut album What I've Become.
