AI overview

Kadiivka is a city in eastern Ukraine's Luhansk Oblast region that was officially renamed from its Soviet name "Stakhanov" back to "Kadiivka" by the Ukrainian parliament in 2016. The city matters partly because it has been under Russian occupation since 2014, during which Russian authorities have continued using the Soviet name rather than the Ukrainian-designated one, reflecting the broader geopolitical conflict in the region.
