He is most famous for his work with The Prince of Tennis. He adopted the stage name Kimeru, which means "to decide" in Japanese, before debuting. Kimeru's birth name has never been announced publicly. From 2018 onwards, with the release of his 16th single "go forward", the singer's name is now stylized as KIMERU.

Kimeru (キメル, born June 17th, 1980 in Kumamoto-ken, Japan). He gained his first spotlight as a singer when he performed the 1st ending theme of the Tennis no Oujisama (Prince of Tennis) anime, 'You Got Game?' on 2001. From 2003, he played the role of the prodigy Fuji Shuusuke in the musical version of the series until his graduation from the musical at the end of 2004.
