Encyclopedic overview
La Comelle ( French pronunciation: [la kɔmɛl]) is a commune in the Saône-et-Loire department in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in eastern France. It was the birthplace of Jeanne Baret, the first woman to circumnavigate the world.
