IUPAC-Gruppe (Kohlenstoffgruppe) und 6. Periode des Periodensystems. Blei ist leicht verformbar und hat einen vergleichsweise niedrigen Schmelzpunkt. Die Isotope 206Pb, 207Pb und 208Pb sind die schwersten stabilen Atome, Blei ist damit das Element mit der höchsten Massen- und Ordnungszahl, das noch stabil ist.
