Leisha Hailey was born on July 11th 1971 in Okinawa, Japan. She grew up in Bellevue, Nebraska where she attended Bellevue West High school. She also played the lead in a school production of "Oliver". She came out as a teenager and moved to New York, where she later graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1991. She then formed The Murmurs with a former classmate, Heather Grody. In the 90's the band moved to Los Angeles and released some albums. <a href="https://www.last.fm/music/
