Marilyn Strathern

Marilyn Strathern is a British anthropologist and social anthropologist who was born in North Wales in 1941. She works as a university teacher and has been employed by the University of Manchester, the Australian National University, the University of Cambridge, and Girton College. She is educated at Girton College and speaks English.

Strathern is a member of the British Academy, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Academia Europaea, and the American Philosophical Society. Her work is recognized in the American Academy Arts Sciences collection. She has received the Balzan Prize and is a Fellow of the British Academy.
