Powstaje z połączenia rzek Ułachan-Muna i Orto-Muna we wschodniej części Wyżyny Środkowosyberyjskiej; płynie w kierunku wschodnim silnie meandrując. Żeglowna na odcinku ok. 100 km od ujścia. Zamarza od października do maja; zasilanie głównie śniegowe.
