Philipp Mainländer

Philipp Mainländer, born Philipp Batz Mainländer on 1 January 1841 in Offenbach am Main, was a German poet, philosopher, and writer. A citizen of the Grand Duchy of Hesse, he was educated at the Kreuzschule and was influenced by Arthur Schopenhauer. His native name was Philipp Mainländer, and his given name was Johann. He wrote in German and is described by the Svensk uppslagsbok.

Mainländer authored six works, including Filosofía de la redención, Diario de un poeta, Rupertine del Fino, Filosofía De La Redención, and Philosophie der Erlösung, Erster Band. His archives are held at the Bavarian State Library. He died by suicide via hanging on 1 April 1876 in his birthplace, Offenbach am Main.
