Private Practice ist eine US-amerikanische Fernsehserie und ein Ableger der erfolgreichen Krankenhaus-Serie Grey’s Anatomy. Die Serie beschäftigt sich unter anderem mit dem Leben von Addison Montgomery. Diese hat das Seattle Grace Hospital verlassen und ist nun Teilhaberin einer Privatpraxis in Los Angeles. Das Konzept der Serie wurde ebenso wie das von Grey’s Anatomy von Shonda Rhimes entwickelt, die außerdem neben Betsy Beers, Mark Gordon, Mark Tinker und Marti Noxon als Produzentin der Serie fungiert. Im Januar 2013 wurde die Serie in den Vereinigten Staaten nach sechs Staffeln mit der insgesamt 111. Episode beendet. Im deutschsprachigen Raum wurde die letzte Episode mit dem Titel Die letzte Seite im Buch am 1. April 2013 in Österreich und der Schweiz und zwei Tage später in Deutschland gezeigt.
