==History== thumb|left|upright|The Boyer tower or Petit Donjon was built around 1250-1260 Romont is first mentioned in 1177 as in Rotundo Monte. In 1244 it was mentioned as Romont. The municipality was formerly known by its German name Remund, however, that name is no longer used.
