The city has some of the best white sand beaches of the island: Anse des Salines, Anse Trabaud, Anse Michel. The town centre is a small but unspoiled tourist village, with small shops around the church square. Ruins of the Crève Coeur dwelling, listed as a Historic Monument. They have been the object of restoration for several years.
