Schwechat ist eine Stadtgemeinde mit 20.763 Einwohnern (Stand 1. Jänner 2022) südöstlich von Wien, am Fluss Schwechat. Bekannt ist die Stadt durch den Internationalen Flughafen von Wien, die größte Erdölraffinerie Österreichs im Besitz der OMV sowie das als Marke geläufige „Schwechater Bier“ der Brauerei Schwechat. Die Gemeinde liegt im niederösterreichischen Bezirk Bruck an der Leitha, die Kfz-Zulassung erfolgt jedoch unter „SW“ und nicht unter „BL“ wie in allen anderen Gemeinden des Bezirks.
