Siegen é uma cidade da Alemanha, localizada no distrito de Siegen-Wittgenstein, na região administrativa de Arnsberg, estado da Renânia do Norte-Vestfália. Com aproximadamente 100 000 habitantes, Siegen encontra-se próxima ao limiar da classificação oficial alemã que distingue cidades grandes e médias. Desde 2012 Siegen recebe oficialmente o título de "Cidade Universitária" (Universitätsstadt). A cidade localiza-se a noroeste do ponto de encontro entre três estados: Renânia do Norte-Vestfália, Hesse e Renânia-Palatinado. Ela é a cidade natal do famoso pintor barroco Peter Paul Rubens. Por este motivo, autodenomina-se "Cidade de Rubens" (Rubensstadt). O antigo principado de Nassau-Siegen foi governado por muitos anos pelo príncipe João Maurício de Nassau (1604-1679), cognominado "o Brasileiro", que entre 1637 e 1644 administrou e expandiu os territórios das Índias Ocidentais no nordeste do Brasil durante a invasão holandesa. O seu corpo está depositado no castelo Unteres Schloss, no centro de Siegen.
