The Skoptsy (, ) were a Spiritual Christian sect of Eastern Orthodoxy. They were best known for practising the emasculation of men, the mastectomy and the female genital mutilation of women in accordance with their teachings against sexual lust. The descriptive term "Skoptsy" was coined by the Russian Orthodox Church.
