Steve Marcus was a criminally underrated Tenor and soprano saxophonist , Marcus who was born Sept. 19, 1939 in the Bronx New York, was one of the founding fathers of Jazz Rock Fusion, Though he is known more today for his 12 year run as Buddy Rich's lead saxophonist from 1975 until Rich's death in 1987. Along with Larry Coryell who Marcus worked with on many albums of his own , as well as Coryell's. one of the greatest live performances in all of Jazz Rock was the Coryell album Barefoot Boy. <a
