Ein Superintendent (lateinisch superintendens, wörtlich ‚Aufseher‘, Lehnübersetzung von altgriechisch ἐπίσκοπος episkopos) ist der Inhaber eines Leitungsamtes in evangelischen Kirchen, insbesondere in Deutschland und Österreich. Eine Superintendentur (umgangssprachlich auch Suptur) bezeichnet das Büro eines Superintendenten, in einigen Fällen auch einen von einem Superintendenten geleiteten Kirchenkreis.
